Every year since 1970, the German city of Burghausen has been hosting one of the largest jazz festivals in the world. During Burghausen International Jazz Week, Burghausen becomes a 'Bavarian jazz mecca': guests from all over the world join the Burghausers to enjoy the most wonderful jazz performances as the colorful hustle and bustle of spectators and musicians shake up the city. Stingray DJAZZ presents the festival's 2019 edition, featuring world-class performances by the Walter Trout Band (May 6), the Leo Betzl Trio (May 13), Lucky Peterson & The Organization (May 20) and the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble (May 27), all at 21:00 CEST!

Walter Trout, who was born in New Jersey and is based in Los Angeles, is a world-famous contemporary blues-rock guitarist and vocalist. The Walter Trout Band performs at the 50th Burghausen International Jazz Week in 2019.
LEO BETZL TRIO

The German trio LBT - Leo Betzl Trio - is one of the few acoustic trios experimenting with 'techno jazz'. Despite relying on the traditional piano, double bass and percussion format, their sound is highly inventive and totally 'now'.

Legendary bluesman Lucky Peterson, master of the blues guitar and Hammond organ, celebrates 50 years on stage. He is accompanied by his band, augmented by talented vocalist Tamara Tramell, who offers a fascinating mix of southern soul and modern R&B.
HYPNOTIC BRASS ENSEMBLE

The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble consists of eight sons of jazz trumpeter and one-time Sun Ra Arkestra member Phil Cohran. The ensemble's music ranges from hypnotizing grooves to jazzy funk.
