DJAZZ Presents: Jazzed Out

Every Friday in November

Many writers have discussed the globalization effects on jazz over the past 20 years. And yet, jazz is never quite the same whether it’s from Asia, Europe, or the U.S. While musicians may speak the same musical language, their distinct national identities make themselves known. Sometimes differences are as subtle as an instrument, or expressions on musicians’ faces, or as obvious as a full ensemble, and the tonal spectrum of the music being played. Stingray DJAZZ invites viewers to explore Berlin, Oslo, London, Zurich, and Tokyo with the Jazzed Out series - the ultimate journey through the world’s largest cities examined through the lens of jazz.
