Piano duos hold a very particular place within jazz history. Many of the greatest jazz pianists have played in this formation, including Chick Corea and Hiromi Uehara, and Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock and Joe Zawinul. For decades, Dr. Billy Taylor and Marian McPartland played numerous piano duets with other pianists on their radio and TV shows, adding to the popularity of the genre. More recently, Robert Glasper and Jason Moran have performed duo concerts. Coming from Houston, Texas, both pianists are celebrated for their unique styles and influential innovations during the early 21st century. Enjoy the duo’s concert on Saturday, August 24, at 21:00 CEST, on Stingray DJAZZ.
