24, 25 and 26 December at 21:00 CET
Perhaps more than any other type of music, jazz is the soundtrack of December and modern-day Christmas. Songs such as “Let It Snow,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” “White Christmas,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Sleigh Ride,” or the classic “Jingle Bells” have been performed and recorded by jazz musicians multiple times throughout history. Hence, on Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24 at 21:00 (CET), Stingray DJAZZ presents the best of Christmas music performed by the Concertgebouw Jazz Orchestra. On Christmas day, Tuesday, December 25 at 21:00 (CET), Stingray DJAZZ premieres the leading Finnish jazz pianist Aki Rissanen and his trio. On Wednesday, December 26 at 21:00 (CET), Stingray DJAZZ picks the rising jazz star, UK pianist Dominic J Marshall as part of Christmas special programming, as well as the editor’s choice of the month.

DJAZZ Presents: Jazzahead! 2018
Thursday - Saturday in December at 20:00 CET
Starting from the second weekend of December every Thursday to Saturday at 20:00 (CET), Stingray DJAZZ presents the new jazzahead! 2018 series. The international trade fair, exhibition, and festival, jazzahead!, is one of the most important events in the jazz community. Hosted annually in Bremen, Germany, it brings together musicians, bookers, agents, organizers, jazz experts and music enthusiasts. This year, jazzahead! pays special attention to Poland by selecting 40 different jazz acts from all over the world and inviting them to perform over the course of three days. Divided into four distinct categories (Polish Night, European Jazz Meeting, German Jazz Expo and Overseas Night), all performances offer a unique look at the current state of jazz music viewed from a jazzahead! Perspective.
