AUGUST PREMIERES: MÜNCHNER KLAVIERSOMMER

SUNDAYS THROUGHOUT AUGUST AT 21:00 CEST

Every Sunday evening throughout August, Stingray DJAZZ premieres new concerts at 21:00 CEST. This month, special attention goes to 'Münchner Klaviersommer' which was an annual concerts series that took place from 1981 to 1998 in Munich, Germany. Although the festival's name suggests a strong focus on piano music, it featured countless famous musicians from jazz and classical music – not just pianists. The concerts were usually held in July at The Gasteig, home of the Munich Philharmonic. On August 1, vibraphonist Gary Burton and pianist Makoto Ozone team up for a mesmerizing performance. Don’t miss out on keyboardist Chick Corea’s Akoustic Band on August 8. Austrian jazz keyboardist Joe Zawinul takes the stage on August 15, followed by American fusion guitarist Al di Meola on August 22. Last but not least, tune in for jazz quartet Phalanx on August 29 - all on Sunday evenings at 21:00 CEST on Stingray DJAZZ.
