Throughout the year, each of the twelve months hold important dates to those musicians who have made significant contributions to jazz and its history. Stingray DJAZZ broadcasts four concerts of legendary jazz musicians on their birthdays. Watch Sammy Price perform at Comblain-la-Tour Jazz Festival in Belgium on October 6 at 20:00 CEST. On October 10 at 20:00 CEST, Stingray DJAZZ shows Thelonious Monk's concert from Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, Belgium. Don’t miss out on Art Blakey’s performance from that same Palais des Beaux-Arts on October 11, again at 20:00 CEST. Texan pianist Sammy Price (1908-1992) played everything from blues and boogie-woogie to swing and jump-blues. Starting in Dallas as a singer and dancer in Alphonso Trent’s orchestra, he went to Kansas to form the Texas Bluesicians.

Dizzy Gillespie & Sonny Stitt live at Cirque Royal features a historic concert from one of the founding fathers of bebop. The 1958 concert features Dizzy with a quintet including such influential musicians as sax player Sonny Stitt and bassist Ray Brown.
