Stingray DJAZZ presents its new series jazzahead! 2019 every Monday throughout May at 20:00 CEST. An international trade fair, exhibition, and renowned festival, jazzahead!, is one of the most important events in the jazz community. Hosted annually in Bremen, Germany, it brings together musicians, bookers, agents, organizers, jazz experts and music enthusiasts. In 2019, 40 different jazz acts from all over the world perform over the course of three days. Special attention is paid to Norway's jazz scene. Divided into four distinct categories (Norway Night, European Jazz Meeting, German Jazz Expo and Overseas Night), all performances at jazzahead! offer insight into the current state of jazz.

The Azerbaijan pianist Isfar Sarabski is a prominent follower of pianist Vagif Mustafazedeh, who pioneered a fusion of traditional styles of Persian-Iranian improvisation with jazz in the 1950s.

Trio Abozekrys comprises of oud player Mohamed Abozekry, his brother Abdallah Abozekry on saz, and Nicolas Thé on drums. Their jazz-inflected repertoire is inspired by the music of the Near East.
