JULY PREMIERES: MÜNCHNER KLAVIERSOMMER
SUNDAYS THROUGHOUT JULY AT 21:00 CEST
Every Sunday evening throughout July, Stingray DJAZZ premieres new concerts at 21:00 CEST. This month, special attention goes to 'Münchner Klaviersommer' which was an annual concerts series that took place from 1981 to 1998 in Munich, Germany. Although the festival's name suggests a strong focus on piano music, it featured countless famous musicians from jazz and classical music – not just pianists. The concerts were usually held in July at The Gasteig, home of the Munich Philharmonic. On July 4 watch Chick Corea’s Elektric Band in performance, and do not miss out on Joe Zawinul and Weather Update on July 11. Watch Lionel Hampton’s concert on July 18, and finally, tune in for Herbie Mann’s Brazilian Vibes on July 25 - all at 21:00 CEST on Stingray DJAZZ.
