SEPTEMBER PREMIERES: MÜNCHNER KLAVIERSOMMER
SUNDAYS THROUGHOUT SEPTEMBER AT 21:00 CEST
Every Sunday evening throughout September, Stingray DJAZZ premieres new concerts at 21:00 CEST. This month, special attention goes to 'Münchner Klaviersommer' which was an annual concerts series that took place from 1981 to 1998 in Munich, Germany. Although the festival's name suggests a strong focus on piano music, it featured countless famous musicians from jazz and classical music – not just pianists. The concerts were usually held in July at The Gasteig, home of the Munich Philharmonic. Watch vibraphonist Gary Burton and pianist Chick Corea at work in an inspired duo performance on September 5, and don’t miss out on pianist Makoto Ozone playing a breath-taking solo concert on September 12. Enjoy a spectacular performance by the Gonzalo Rubalcaba Trio on September 19 and tune in for a top-notch Chick Corea solo appearance on September 26 - all at 21:00 CEST on Stingray DJAZZ.
