SUNDAYS THROUGHOUT MAY AT 21:00 CEST

Every Sunday evening throughout May, Stingray DJAZZ premieres new concerts at 21:00 CEST. This month, special attention goes to the North Sea Jazz Festival’s archives. Today the festival is the largest indoor music festival in the world, known globally as the event that explores the past, present and future of jazz in three days. On May 1 and 8 at 21:00 CEST watch the Benny Goodman Septet in a two-part concert performance. On May 15 at 21:00 CEST tune in for Clark Terry and his big-band. Finally, on May 22 and 29 at 21:00 CEST don’t miss out on Count Basie and his orchestra in a mesmerising two-part concert performance - all on Stingray DJAZZ!

Legendary swing band leader jazz clarinettist Benny Goodman performed two sets with his septet at the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague in 1982. This is the first set.

Clark Terry Big Band - North Sea Jazz

In 1979, legendary jazz trumpeter and flugelhorn player Clark Terry brought his own Big Bad Band to the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague. The virtuoso trumpeter himself was a veteran of both Duke Ellington's and Count Basie's celebrated ensembles.

In 1979, legendary big band leader and pianist Count Basie brought his famous big band to the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague to perform two sets. Basie was popular for his minimalist pianism and blues-oriented swing style. This is the first set.
